Good news for Ohio shoppers! The state is hosting an extended sales tax holiday for ten days from Tuesday, July 30, to Thursday, August 8. This means you can enjoy significant savings on a wide range of purchases.

Expanded Tax-Free Shopping

Unlike previous years, this year’s tax holiday covers more than just clothing and school supplies. You can now enjoy tax-free shopping for items up to $500. This includes:

  • Clothing: Enjoy savings on back-to-school outfits, work attire, and everyday wear.
  • School supplies: Stock up on notebooks, pencils, calculators, and other essentials for the upcoming school year.
  • Restaurant meals: Dine out and save on your food bill (excluding alcohol and carry-out orders).

What’s Not Included?

While the tax-free holiday offers substantial savings, it’s important to note that certain items are excluded. These include:

  • Services
  • Watercraft
  • Motor vehicles
  • Alcoholic beverages
  • Tobacco products
  • Marijuana-containing items

Plan Your Shopping Spree

With this extended tax holiday, you have plenty of time to plan your shopping trips. Whether you’re outfitting your kids for school, updating your wardrobe, or treating yourself to a night out, take advantage of these savings.
